Organizations
The Children's Partnership is a national
nonprofit, nonpartisan organization whose mission
is to inform leaders and the public about the needs
of America's 70 million children and to engage them
in ways that benefit children. The Partnership is

The Coalition for America's Children at the
Benton Foundation, 1634 Eye Street, NW, 12th Floor,

is an alliance of national, state, and local nonprofit
organizations working to call attention to the serious
obstacles impeding children's well-being and to boost
children's concerns to the top of the public policy

Search Institute An independent research
and educational organization, Search Institute focuses
on the positive development of children and adolescents.
A national initiative, "Healthy Communities, Healthy
Youth" provides communities with resources and training
to bring adults and youth together. Search publishes
a quarterly newsletter, Assets, as well as

Youth as Resources is a national organization
active in more than 30 communities across the United
States in empowering youth as grant makers. Funded
locally, YAR helps young people to help other youth
develop community projects by awarding small grants.

to ensuring that young people's voices are heard through

Publications
Younger Voices, Stronger Choices, published
by the Promise Project, a joint effort of Kansas City
Consensus and the Junior League of Kansas City, promotes
partnerships between young people and adults that
give youth a voice in decision making. Written by
an adult author and high-school students, it shares
ideas for involving youth as grant makers, service
providers, board members, consultants, and activists.

Build is a quarterly magazine published by
Do Something, the non-profit organization dedicated

In November, 1996, Do Something sponsored "Webstock
'96" featuring celebrity and music interviews and
ways to get involved.
Who Cares--"the magazine for people who do"
covers community service and social action across
the United States, with a strong focus on young adults.
