The Johnson Foundation at Wingspread’s programming focuses on environment and community – two important priorities and passions of the Johnson family.
At the Foundation, we believe that new solutions are needed to ensure the sustainability of our environment and communities. We are not subject-area experts, nor do we advocate specific solutions or bring preconceived ideas to an issue. The Foundation’s one and only agenda is the exploration and identification of fresh, new solutions by a broad range of key decision makers.
Through our environmental programming initiatives, we work to identify critical environmental issues. We convene national and international thought leaders from various sectors, representing diverse perspectives to discuss and encourage solutions to environmental challenges. The Foundation employs environmental experts charged with developing ongoing programming to support this initiative and seeks to work with individuals and organizations to help ensure action and impact following conferences.
We believe a sustainable future will be built on the foundation of strong, resilient communities. This belief starts at home. We are committed to helping Wisconsin communities, primarily Racine and neighboring cities and towns, chart a course to a cleaner, healthier tomorrow and better quality of life for all who live here. Topics of regional conferences and programs, in areas such as public health and education, typically are chosen in collaboration with community leaders in our region.
