Howard
Fuller
Howard Fuller, a Distinguished Professor of Education
and Director of the Institute for the Transformation
of Learning at Marquette University in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, was elected to The Johnson Foundation Board
of Trustees in June 1999. The institute is a national
forum for research, discussion, and advocacy to increase
options for parents in transforming K-12 education
for their children—its content, methods of teaching,
and governing structures. Immediately before his appointment
at Marquette University, Dr. Fuller was Superintendent
of Milwaukee Public Schools, where he became nationally
known for his unending support for fundamental educational
reform. He has served as a Senior Fellow at the Annenberg
Institute for School Reform at Brown University, and
is on the boards of the Transcenter for Youth, the
Dorothy Danforth Compton Fellowship, and the Crusade
to Save Our Children, Milwaukee.
