We plan and host meetings that have impact on the future of the environment and our community.
Empowerment Summit
To focus on finding solutions to address disparities and inequities plaguing minority students in Racine Unified School District. Two goals: (1) strengthen awareness within the African American community of the needs of African American students and (2) galvanize and augment existing resources that are having a positive impact on African American students.
Local Government Community Conversation
To continue discussions among local units of government east of I94 regarding municipal services and budgets for 2013.
We Can Change the Odds: Overhauling Public Education in Our Community
A nationally-renowned advocate for school reform, Jamie Vollmer, will provide an analysis of the tough issues facing public education and the need for system transformation. Jamie will offer change strategies and begin a discussion to increase student success and improve the quality of life for everyone
in Racine.
Next Generation Now Reception
To familiarize the Racine community with the work undertaken in a unique child development center.
School Readiness Coalition: Organizational Update
To update staff of the Coalition organizations on progress to date and review of bright ideas from the fall 2010 meeting.
