Helen Johnson-Leipold is the first woman in five generations to lead a Johnson family enterprise. She began her business career at Foote, Cone & Belding where she directed advertising and branding strategies for some of America’s leading consumer packaged goods companies. Helen joined S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. in 1985, where she held a variety of senior level marketing and management positions of increasing responsibility until 1999 when she was elected Chairman & CEO of Johnson Outdoors Inc, a leading global outdoor recreational products innovator.
In 2004, Helen also became Chairman of the Johnson Financial Group, a $6 billion global financial services company, parent to Johnson Bank, one the five largest privately-owned community banks in the United States. That same year she succeeded her father, business icon Sam Johnson, as Chairman of the Johnson Foundation, headquartered in the historic Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Wingspread Conference Center, and Chairman, Johnson-Keland Mgt., the Johnson family’s personal investment and financial management office.
Helen also serves as a Director of S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. and JohnsonDiversey, Inc., as Chairman of Next Generation Now, a pioneering child development and family resource center, and a Trustee of The Prairie School.
A graduate of Cornell University, Helen and her husband Craig enjoy their active family of five boys and five dogs.
